Services
My training for mural painting started at the City and Guild Art School, London, culminating in extensive travels in Italy studying the the late Renaissance painters.
My passion for art and colour soon led me to interior design.
If it is a slick design or a relaxed traditional style that is required, I love to create something special with the client.
I can add a contemporary twist to an old building or a more classic design to a modern space.
My skills also lie in project managing and liaising with the client to get the best solution at a reasonable price.
I worked with the young clients to give depth and life to this shell by adding colour and style.
We started by choosing rugs designed by William Yeoward for the dining and sitting rooms and Marni's Candy Flower for the children's bedroom.
This then formed the inspiration for the rest of the space; we then went on to find furniture and fabrics that worked well with these colours.
The sixties armchairs work particularly well with Tom Dixon's Fora 2 rug chosen for the private sitting rooms.
The design had to be carefully matched to make sure it followed the rules of Feng Shui within the apartment.
The Winchester Royal Hotel had become tired and lost some of its charm.
Together with Akkeron Hotels and NBC Contracting we were able to breathe new life into this historic coaching inn.
We decided to research how the hotel had once looked and we found some fascinating photographs of Winchester and the surrounding area.
Using these, the modern bedroom wing had its 50 rooms and bathrooms fully refurbished in a contemporary style but still remained true to the history of the building.
The Writing Room, the hotel's private dining room, contains a history of the hotel dating back to the 15th century.
Adjacent to Charlecote Park and once the original farmhouse to the estate, The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel had been much neglected before we revived its charm.
Some of the farmhouse bedrooms were large enough to take a four-poster bed and televisions in the bathrooms!
We commissioned original oil paintings for each and every bedroom from Perfect Circle Art who use art students from the Glasgow School of Art.
This added a more personal touch to these comfortable and carefully designed rooms.
Gravetye Manor was home to William Robinson, the eminent Victorian gardener who started the revival of naturalistic planting.
The house was successfully transformed into one of the very first Country House Hotels by Peter Herbert in 1958.
Jeremy and Elizabeth Hosking took over the hotel in 2010 following Peter Herbert's retirement.
Nigel has worked with the clients during the recent rennovation to keep the original spirit of the house and garden.
Crawley Studios found it a pleasure to oversee the restoration of this important grade 2 listed building and garden.
